He was born February 12, 1931, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to George and Cecelia(Mieras) Comrie. Jack served in the Army during the Korean War. He was married to Patricia Piper on September 22, 1956, in Williamston, Michigan. Jack worked as a supervisor at Consumers Power for many years in the Lansing area, retiring in 1987. The couple moved from the Lansing area to Prudenville 25 years ago. Jack enjoyed his church activities, and was on the Board of Trustees, at St. John Lutheran Church, he also was a Red Cross Blood Drive Volunteer, former Board of Director at Consumer's Professional Credit Union, and enjoyed fishing and cheering on the Tigers.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of over 55 years, Patricia Comrie of Prudenville, MI.; son, David Comrie of Prudenville; son, John(Kelly) Comrie of Haslett; daughter-in-law, Trixie Comrie of Potterville; granddaughter, Nicole(Donnie) Quick of Orlando, Florida; four great grandchildren, Tison, Brittani, Schay Lyn, and Dayna Rose; Sister, Dorothy Rodemeyer of Livonia and several nieces and nephews.. He was preceded in death by his son George Comrie on August 6, 2012 in a motor vehicle accident, and sisters, Alice Hoffman, Edith Hull, and Margaret Green.
Funeral services will be conducted at St. John Lutheran Church, Prudenville with Rev. William Winter officiating at 11 AM on Wednesday August 15, 2012. Interment will be at the Denton Township Cemetery in Prudenville. Visitation will be at Christler Funeral Home, Prudenville Chapel on Tuesday August 14, 2012 from 6-8 PM. Memorials may be made in Jack's memory to the Orozo Paraguay Mission, Grayling Mercy Hospice, or the American Lung Association.
