Alonzo was the son of Jonas & Annie Frye Snoots, and the husband of the former Katie Jenkins who survived. He was the father of Jonas, Gertie Frye, Shirley, Harry, Fred, Arthur, Lettie Wetzel, Minnie Caniford, John, Charles, Janie Alexander and Alonza. He was also survived by 11 grandchildren, brothers John and Harry and sister Nannie Butts Wilson.
He was a farmer in Loudoun Co. VA and Frederick Co. MD, where he moved sometime after 1910.
His obituary in the Frederick paper says that "he was widely known throughout the county and was respected for his sterling character and uprightness."
