Charles was a son of Alonzo and Katie Jenkins Snoots. He was divorced from Mary Coulter. He married Katherine White in 1939, but she predeceased him in 1953. He lived in Stephens City, VA but was visiting family when he died suddenly.
He was survived by his son Charles Taylor and siblings Arthur Snoots, Lettie Wetzel, Minnie Caniford, John Snoots and Alonza Snoots.
