She was born to Frank and Vera Champ in Ridgeville, Indiana, on December 11, 1915. She married her husband, Charles Retter, on April 28, 1938 and was a loving mother and wife. She enjoyed her family, working crossword puzzles, her dog, Shad, and was a NASCAR fan.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte McNally of Muncie; her granddaughter, Patience Lutz (husband-Jack) of Wakarusa, IN; two great-grandchildren, Tory Lutz (wife-Alysia) of Nappanee, IN, and Heather Lutz of Wakarusa, IN; her dog, Shad; a family friend, Scott Hurt; a brother-in-law, Ivan Pegg; and several nephews.
On May 7, 1974, she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Charles Retter. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Vera Champ; her brother, Ray Champ; her sister, Alice Madine Pegg; and her son-in-law, James McNally.
Services will be held at Parson Mortuary, 801 West Adams, on Friday, April 14, 2006 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Friends may all prior to the funeral service from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday at the mortuary.
