Politician, Democratic Statesman. Leader of the unsuccessful Hungarian Revolt of 1848-9, and thus the first leader of a democratic Hungary. Lived and died in exile thereafter. He made an extensive tour of the United States in 1851-1852, and a bust of him is located in the United States Capitol.
