Lorene Claudette Rogers, age 69, of Thorn Hill, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012. She was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church. She was preceeded in death by her husband, 2nd Lieutenant Allen Tebbs Rogers II and her mother, Ann Hurd Perry. Survivors include her son, Allen Tebbs Rogers III and his wife Linda of Thorn Hill; granddaughter Anna Clair Rogers; brother G. H. Perry of Morristown; sisters Vertie Collingsworth of Eidson, Gloria Begley and husband Carl of Mooresburg, and Shirley Hickman and husband Randall of Eidson, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to Hancock Maner Nursing Home, Hancock County Hospital, and Hancock County Home Health Agency, for all they have done for Mrs. Rogers.
Funeral Services will be held at 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the McNeil Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Kester Bunch officiating. Internment will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Monte Vista Memoral Gardens in Johnson City. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at McNeil Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to HOPE for Hancock County cancer fund.
