Eugene Darner, the man who killed Leroy Hunter in Taylorville at a political rally in 1884, and was sentenced to the penitentiary for fourteen years, and who was yesterday pardoned by Gov. Fifer, was brought here from Joliet yesterday afternoon. He will be taken to Taylorville this morning. He is very low with consumption and is not expected to live many days.
Date:
Illinois State Register, Springfield, Illinois, Tuesday, March 22, 1892, p. 8.
None of the papers I discovered told where Eugene was buried. I am assuming he is buried in the area of his parents.
