L.C., aka Bay/Babe Barrow was one of my paternal great-grandfathers. I never knew him, but have heard a few stories about him through the years. The following information has been obtained from family members and through other means of research -

L.C. was the son of Lee C. Barrow and Mary Ann Dicus Barrow. He had one brother, Thomas C. Barrow and one sister, Minnie M. Barrow [the only siblings I am aware of]. He married Addie Mae Allison on October 16, 1904 and had four children; Melvin, Ruby, Floyd [aka Dick], and Lura Miriam [aka Poe/Polk]. Sometime before his death he and his wife Addie separated. I do not know the details of the separation though I have heard rumors that he drank heavily and was abusive to my great-grandmother. I have a book from Carter Funeral Home in Glen Rose, Texas that has been filled out by my grandmother [his daughter] and was signed by visitors to the funeral home, the bearers, and the family members that attended his funeral. This book is a real treasure and I hope someday to go visit his grave and take a photo of the site. I only pray that there is a marker.
