Architect. He was a Hungarian architect, who studied under his father and at the Budapest Academy of Fine Arts. Early in his career, he used his talents in architecture with work in Germany, England, France, Italy, Greece and Turkey, before settling in Budapest, in 1874. There he worked at the department of public works and built his first major commission at the Saxlehner Palace, in 1878. He became a fellow of the Budapest Technical University in 1887 and was president of the Society of Hungarian Engineers and Builders, (1894-1900). Among his many works is Budapest's market halls and the Szecheny Bath in Budapest City Park, which was completed after his death. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
