J. Clarence Baker died at the Community Memorial Hospital in Spring Valley on March 18th. He had been ailing from a heart condition.
The son of James and Ella Talbot Baker, he was born in Fillmore County on February 16, 1892. He farmed in the Wykoff area until retiring about 18 years ago. For the past nine years he has lived in Wykoff.
On January 9th, 1921, Mr. Baker and the former Sarah Ann Hanley were married at the Wykoff Methodist Church. She survives. Other survivors are a son, William C. of Wykoff; a sister, Mrs. John (Mary) Meeker of Rochester, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister.
The Rev. Paul Bosshardt conducted the services at the United Methodist Church in Wykoff on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Burial was in the Chatfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kermit Meyer, Ervin Meyer, Lyle Meeker, Lloyd Meeker, Harold Baker, and Boyd Baker.
