George Pufpaff Passed Away Early Sunday Morning – Leaves 6 Children
The Cleveland community was shocked on Sunday morning upon learning of the death of George Pufpaff which occurred at the family home on the shore of Lake Henry at about 5 a.m. that day. Mr. Pufpaff had been about his usual farm duties on Sunday and appeared as well as usual. His wife awakened early Sunday morning by the peculiar breathing of her husband and before aid could be summoned he had passed away. Death was due to a stroke.
Mr. Pufpaff was born in Hardin county, Illinois, September 9th, 1865, and with his parents, brothers and sisters came to Minnesota in 1872, settling on the farm where the deceased passed away. He was married to Miss Bertha Boldt in 1912 and she with six children survive him. Alice, Alma, Marie, Lucille, the three latter being triplet daughters. Arnold, and the baby daughter, Darline. One daughter, Rosa, passed away about two years ago. He also leaves two brothers, Fred of this village, and Louis of Kasota; one sister, Mrs. Henry Schickling of Devils Lake, N.D., and a step-brother, Wm. Kemmitts of St. Peter.
Funeral services were held from the Lutheran church, south of Cleveland, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by Rev. F. Tiede of Le Sueur Center. The pallbearers were: Nick Rosner, Gust Wendelschafer, John and Joe Schoeb, Fred Koppleman and
Herman Zimmerman. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
The family has the sincere sympathy of the community.
