Father of General Orris Sanford Ferry. He was a son of Ebenezer Ferry and Charity Foote. He lived much of his life in Danbury, Conn. where he was a hatter. He lived later in NYC and died in Norwalk, Conn where his son General Orris S.Ferry lived.
Starr Ferry, Esq., father of Senator Ferry died at his son's residence in Norwalk on Thursday night last. Mr. Ferry has for some time been in feeble health. For many years he occupied a conspicuous position in the business and politics of Fairfield county, being at onetime its high sheriff. His funeral was attended at Bethel, the family home.
