Pansy Iva Mae Hancock, 87, of Searcy, formally of North Little Rock, died Wednesday, Nov. 20. Born in 1909 in Lebanon, Mo., her family moved by covered wagon to Cleburn County in 1925, later moving to North Little Rock, where she was a member of Pike Avenue Baptist Church. She had opened her home the past years to over 50 foster children, and numerous families of Fort Roots patients.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Hancock, Sr.; one daughter, Ann Mae May of Little Rock and eight brothers and sisters.

She is survived by one daughter, Claire Magar of Little Rock; one son, James D. Hancock Jr. of Searcy; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 23, at Griffin Leggett/Rest Hills Chapel with burial following in Pinecrest Cemetery.; nlrt11/28/1996
