A native and lifelong resident of Chillicothe, he was a self-employed truck driver and retired in 1980, following a stroke. Mr. Simpson was a member of St Columban Catholic Church in Chillicothe. He married the former Alice L. Davis on Oct. 11, 1929, in Trenton, Mo. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Shirley Nelson and Mary Lou Ritchie, both of Chillicothe; a brother, Floyd Simpson of Chillicothe; two sisters, Liddie Scott of Chillicothe and Ruth England of Utica, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grand-children.
Services will be at 1:30 Friday at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe." St Joseph News-Press, October 12, 1988
