Leola "Lee" Nichols, 80, of West Burlington, died on Saturday, April, 18, 2009 at 12:50 a.m. in West Point Care Center, West Point, Iowa.

She was born on May 14, 1928, in Burlington, the daughter of John Henry and Ethel Bidwell Cain. She married John J. Nichols on Sept. 22, 1946 in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1998.

She worked at Sylvania for 25 years and then Midwest Biscuit before retirement. She enjoyed playing cards, watching tv and spending time with her family. She was a former member of the Women's Auxiliary of Disabled Veterans. She was of the Christian faith.

Surivivors include four daughters, Connie (Bill) Raschendorfer of Burlington, Pat (Eldean) Anderson of West Burlington, Sharon Couchman of Ft. Madison, Pam (Mike) Hostetter of Milan, Missosuri; one son, John (Barb) Nichols of Loveland, Colorado ; 7 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; one brother, Leo Cain of Burlington; and one sister, Bonnie Miller of Dover, Delaware.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Lorene McNeil & Ethel Ehret; four brothers, Raymond, Robert, John & Frank; and one step son, Jim Nichols.
