Colorado residents of all ages grew up watching Blinky. His show was on the air from 1958 to 1998. It originated from the studios of KKTV in Colorado Springs from 1958 until 1966 when it moved to KWGN in Denver. In 2005 he was inducted into the Broadcast Professionals of Colorado's Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame. Scott owned Blinky's Antiques and Collectibles on S. Broadway in Denver for 22 years. The shop closed in 2008. Scott died at the Bear Creek Nursing Center in Morrison. A friend, Frank Lanford, says he had been in failing health. Bio by David Mitchell.
Happy Birthday song by Blinky.
A Clown’s Blessing
May your noses be red and shiny,
And your smile always bright.
May your cheeks be nice and rosy,
Your eyes sparkle in the light.
May your shoes be always too big,
Your costume be perma-pressed,
Your heart overflow with laughter,
Every time your clown is dressed.
May face paint be at the ready,
And your balloons be “easy-blow”.
May children run to greet you,
Wherever you may go.
