Thrilda Baggett Pollard, age 89, of Moore, Oklahoma., passed away August 24, 2012, surrounded by her family and friends.

Thrilda was born in Dawson Springs, Kentucky., and lived her youth in Pineville, with her parents Charlie Lee and Susie Tyner Baggett. Charles Willis Baggett (deceased) and Donnie Baggett (Barbara Bordelon)of Alexandria. She also had two sisters Teresa (deceased) and BB Spurgeon (Jake Spurgeon, deceased) Moore, Oklahama.

During her early adult years, Thrilda was employed as a professional photographer; she was also a make-up artist for The Little Theatre in Alexandria. During this time she volunteered many hours at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Alexandria as well as the United Service Organization (USO). She was a charter member of the Women in Military Service for America Memorial.

In the early 1960's she met and married the love of her life Colonel (Ret) Thomas David Pollard (deceased) and together they moved their families to Barnesville, Georgia. In the mid 1970's Tom and Thrilda moved to Destin, Florida where they lived until Tom's death in September 2010.

During the last two years of her life Thrilda lived with her sister in Moore,Oklahoma.

Her children and families are as follows: One son and daughter-in-law; Three daughters and two sons-in-law; sixteen grandchildren She has 39 great-grandchildren and would have welcomed another baby boy in November. She is also survived by one very lucky niece, Tracy.

Preceded by her daughter Thrilda Suzanne "Susie" Pollard.

During the last five months Thrilda was thankful for the support and care she received from her sister and niece and friends, as well as the staff at Brookhaven Extended Care and Norman Specialty Hospital.

A graveside service and interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Varginia at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in honor of Thrilda Pollard may be made to the Cedars Cancer Institute, 2155 Guy St. Suite 900 Montreal, Quebec, Canada H3H-2R9 (514-931-5656) or the Women's Memorial Foundation Dept. 560 Washington, DC 20042-0560 (703-533-1155).

It is said death leaves a heartache no one can heal, Thrilda left us with memories no one can steal.
