Alice Mae Conley, age 77, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, formerly of Price, died Tuesday, November 26, 2002 at the Nature Trail Healthcare in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Born April 28, 1925, at Price, she was the daughter of the late Burgess and Rhoda Moore Compton. She is survived by her husband, James Estil "Red" Conley. Other survivors include one son, Jimmy Michael Conley of Benton, Illinois; one brother, Omery D. Compton (wife, Juanita) of Price; one sister, Gertrude Rose (husband, Orville Vernon) of Price; two grandchildren, Elizaeth Eileen Conley of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, and Joanna Michelle Flota (husband, Michael) of Davis, California; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ashland "Pete" Compton. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 29, at 11 a.m., at Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, with Orville Vernon Rose and Woodrow Dye officiating. Burial will be in the Little Cemetery at Price, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home. Visitation was held at the funeral home prior to the funeral.
