WILLIS FRANKLIN GRIFFIN
Willis Franklin Griffin was born June 30, 1866 at Jacksonville, Jackson county, Ore., and died March 31, 1936, at the age of 69 years, 9 months and 1 day.
On October 15, 1890, he was married to Mary Ellen Soliss. To this union were born a son, Lloyd M. of Richmond, VA., and a daughter, Marguerite, of Los Angeles.
Mr. Griffin was the son of pioneer parents who settled in Jackson county in the early 1850's in the district now known as Griffin Creek, southwest of Medford. He spent a part of his time in Crescent City and Berkeley, Calif. For the past 18 years he has resided in the Shan Creek community. He belonged to the grange, being a charter member of Shan Creek subordinate grange.
Besides his family, he is survived by three brothers, Henry L of Medford, Bertram S. of Alturas, Calif., and George H. of Grants Pass; and two sisters, Lelah Boyd and Lydia Wertz, both of Grants Pass. He is also survived by four grandchildren and a number of nieces and hephews.

Willis F. Griffin Dies at Shan Creek
Willis F. Griffin, 69, died at his father's homestead on Shan Creek at 10:30 o'clock Tuesday morning. He was born June 30, 1866. For the past 20 years he has lived in the Shan Creek district.
He is survived by three brothers, G. H. Griffin of Route 2; Henry Griffin of Medford and Bert Griffin of Alturas; and two sisters, Lela Boyd of Alturas and Lydia Wertz of Shan Creek.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later from the L. B. Hall funeral home, where the body was taken.

WILLIS GRIFFIN TAKEN BY DEATH
Willis F. Griffin, 69, a son of the late W. M. and Mary A. Griffin and a member of one of the old pioneer families, passed away at the home of his brother, George H. Griffin, near Grants Pass, March 31.
He was a former well known resident of Jackson county and for the past 17 years had been a resident of Josephine county.
Funeral services will be held at the Hall funeral home in Grants Pass April 2 at 1 p.m. under the auspices of the Shan Creek Grange, of which he was a member.
Interment in the Griffin family cemetery on Griffin creek near this city.
He leaves to mourn his passing numerous relatives and friends.
