George Clayton Sayers, 74, 200 N. Eastwood Ave., died Wednesday in Ball Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Randolph County, attended Parker City schools and spent his early years in that area.

Mr. Sayers worked for more than 30 years at Warner Gear before retiring in 1969. He was a member of Warner Gear Sympathy Club.

Surviving are his wife, Sue Sayers; three daughters, Sharon (Mrs. Roger) Park, Indianapolis, and Sandra (Mrs. William) Ellis and Lois Chapman, both of Muncie; a son, Thomas Sayers, Houston, Texas; two sisters, Florence Kingbury, Brownsville, Texas, and Wilma Whistler, Union City; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Elm Ridge Mausoleum, with Rev. Kenneth Mahan, pastor of Madison Street United Methodist Church, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Meeks Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
