Marion Griffin died this morning of injuries received at the McCollum-Christie sawmill at Klamath Falls yesterday afternoon. Details of the accident have not been received. The body will be brought here for burial.

Marion L. Griffin
Marion L. Griffin while engaged in logging at the McCollum and Pruitt mill near Keno on the Klamath river Tuesday afternoon, August 31, was crushed by a rolling log while up-loading a load of logs. He died from the injuries Wednesday morning at 4:50. Mr. Griffin was born in Jackson county, Ore., September 28, 1870, moving to Josephine county where he was united in marriage to Nannie Rains, June 7, 1902. To this union were born six children, Wilda, Lenora, Edna, Myrtle, Raymond, Harvey. He leaves to mourn his death besides his wife and children, his mother, Mrs. M. A. Griffin, four brothers and three sisters, Mrs. F. F. Groves, of Grants Pass; Henry Griffin of Medford; Willis F. Griffin of Oakland, Cal.; George H. Griffin of Ferrydale; Leah Boyd of Alturas, Cal., Bert S. Griffin, Silverton, Ore., Lydia Wertz, Grants Pass, as well as a host of friends. He was an industrious, honest, and loyal citizen, and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at Hall's chapel Friday afternoon at 2:30, with interment at the Granite Hill cemetery.

According to my mother, Uncle Marion was my grandfather's favorite brother, and when he was killed in the accident my grandfather (George H Griffin) took it very hard.
