Jazz Musician/Composer. He was a jazz pianist. Born to Rev. Edward J. Coles and Perlons Adams. He was the youngest brother of the legendary singer Nat King Cole and the older brother to Freddie Cole. He registered for military service in 1945. His musical career began during the Korean War, playing bass drums in a United States Army band. He appeared on television and later toured internationally during the 1950s. In 1957, he formed his own band, the Ike Cole Trio. The band became a steady attraction in Las Vegas. In 1990, he and Freddy Cole, a singer and pianist, toured together in tribute to Nat Cole. He also worked with his niece, Natalie Cole, on the hit Grammy Award-winning "Unforgettable With Love" album in 1991, playing the keyboard.
