Rites Set Here For Mrs. Treadway

Graveside services will be Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Grace Hill Cemetery for Mrs. Clara E. Treadway, formerly of Perry, who died Thursday in Walnut Creek, Calif.

Rev. John Westin, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. The body will arrive in Perry by rail Tuesday morning. Arrangements are in charge of the Newton Funeral home.

Mrs. Treadway was the widow of Frank Treadway, Perry Police officer, who was killed in a robbery of the Nelson Pharmacy nearly 25 years ago. She moved to California shortly thereafter.

She was born July 26, 1885 and was married November 16, 1902 in Perry.

Mrs. Treadway was a Cherokee Strip pioneer, coming to Noble County with the Enos Berger family in 1893. She was a Gold Star Mother, a member of the Legion auxiliary and the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Muriel Day, Mrs. Thelma Nottingham and Mrs. Vera McMall, all of Walnut Creek, and one son, Frank E. Treadway, also of Walnut Creek. Her husband and three children preceded her in death.

Other survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Zella Keith of Dodge City, Kans.; Mrs. Frances Clark, Perry and Mrs. Hessie Dunning, Navato, Calif.; and four brothers, Jim Berger and George Berger, both of Perry, Charles Berger, Sparks, Nev., and Enos Berger, Las Vegas, Nevada, three grandchildren are also among the survivors.

Pallbearers will be Delmar Dunning, Bob Berger, Jack Henry, Ernest Norman, Loyd Berger, and Jack Newton.
