T. C. STEWART DIED EARLY HOUR TODAY!

Thomas C. Stewart, another of Roswell's sturdy pioneers, died this morning at 1 o'clock at his home northeast of this city in Fairview where he had lived for many years.

Thomas C. Stewart was born in Pennsylvania on August 12, 1866, being 64 years of age at the time of his death. He was the son of The Rev. C. W. Stewart, for many years a distinguished minister of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Stewart, together with his wife and son, both of whom survive him, came to Roswell 26 years ago and had made his home here since that time. For several years Mr. Stewart's health had been failing, yet his death was not expected at this time.

Aside from his widow, Mr. Stewart leaves one son, Robert Stewart who is a traveling salesman for a large furniture company. He was located this morning in Salt Lake City and left immediately for his home here. He will arrive on Saturday and no funeral arrangements will be made pending his arrival, the body being held at the Dilley Mortuary.

Mr. Stewart was for many years a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of this city and had a host of devoted friends in this City.

Another of the Pecos valley builders has gone. A devoted husband, and a loving and kindly, father, has gone. Patient through the years even though suffering at times. T. C. Stewart was a true friend, a good neighbor and an excellent citizen.
