Ila Larsen Ahrens
Oct. 6, 1919 – Sept. 20, 2012
Today September 20, 2012 in the wee hours of the morning, our beautiful little Mother very reluctantly left our world to finally join our dad and other beloved family members who have been waiting for her beyond the veil. Lorenzo David and Emma Irene (Amy) Welch Larsen were blessed with the birth of a tiny baby girl on October 6, 1919. They named her Emma Ila Larsen. She was the third child of ten. She lived and grew up in Newton, Utah.
Mother met her sweetheart, Rulon D Ahrens, at a dance in Newton in 1936. They were married for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple on March 30, 1938.
Mother leaves behind four of her children; Rula Brown, Torrance, CA, Janet Hawkins (Spencer), Layton, UT, Glen Ahrens (Susie), West Bountiful, UT and Sharon Wilson Newton (Dave), Syracuse, UT, and daughter-in-law, Julie Ahrens, West Valley, 20 grandchildren, 46.5 great grandchildren, and 3.5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rulon, son, David, her parents, nine siblings, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter. Many thanks to the caring Symbii Hospice nurses, Elisa and Heather and CNA Leslie. But most of all to daughter, Janet and her husband, Spence for all the love and care they provided for Mother.
Please join family and friends for a viewing on Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton, UT. You are also invited to celebrate mother's life at a funeral service on Monday, September 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the Layton Utah Creekside Stake Center, 1480 West Phillips Street, Kaysville, Utah with a viewing at the stake center one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Logan City Cemetery at 3 p.m
