Lieuntenant James C. Brashear and William H. Ja??? of Stephensport were in the Battle of Shiloh. Brashear was wounded and after recovery was transferred to Morgans Cavalry where he remained the rest of the war. (History and Legend of Breckenridge County, by Bill THompson). Actually, he was captured and spent most ot the war at Camp Douglas, as a prisoner of war.
