Lois Wilson Chapman, 101, of 351 Pinecrest St., Alpena, passed away at Sunshine Garden AFC on Monday, May 10, 2010.
Lois was born in Montpelier, Ohio on December 16, 1908 to Oscar and Jennie (Wilson) McDonald, she was the last survivor of 10 children.
Father: Oscar MCDONALD b: 18 JUL 1867 in Salt Creek Twp, Holmes Co, Ohio.
Mother: Jennie Mae WILSON b: DEC 1872 in Bryan, Williams Co, Ohio.
Marriage to Roderick Enerel CHAPMAN b: 27 AUG 1907 in Whitehouse, Lucas Co, Ohio•Married: ABT 1930. Birth: 27 AUG 1907 in Whitehouse, Lucas Co, Ohio. Death: 4 AUG 1998 in Lee Co, Florida. His Parents: Father: Andrew Guy CHAPMAN b: 6 SEP 1881 in Montpelier, Williams Co, Ohio. Mother: Dorothy C. SCHNEIDER b: 1 JUL 1884 in Kendallville, Noble Co, Indiana.
Lois had been employed at the Cohen Hardware and Jane's Flowers in Alpena until her retirement. She was a former member of the Elks Ladies Club.
Surviving are 1 daughter, Beverly (Sam) Olsen of Alpena; 3 grandchildren, Mitchell Cousineau of Florida, Mark Cousineau (Kelli Moore) of Alpena, Audrey Hanson of Arlington, Washington; 2 granddaughters-in-law, Sue Chapman, Kimberly Cousineau; 7 great-grandchildren, Allison (Nick) Modrzynski, Bradley Cousineau, Jayne (Andrew) Mischloney, Jason Cousineau, William (Jody) Hanson, Mallory Hanson, Amy (Chuck) Drane; 6 great-great-grandchildren, Kara Chapman, Brennan, Chelsea and Travis Drane, Owen Mischloney and Rileighn Hanson.
Preceding her in death were her husband, R.E. Chapman; 2 sons, Eugene and wife Lois J. Chapman, Lt. Commander Rodney Max Chapman;2 grandsons, Paul Cousineau,Stephen L. Chapman (FAG #49619889); and a great-grandson, Rodney Matthew Chapman (FAG #37162050).
A memorial service for Lois will be held Saturday, May 15, 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ with Rev. Thomas Orth officiating.
