Florence A. Conter, 92, formerly of 559 So. Main St., Mishicot, entered into eternal life, Thursday, October 4, 2012, at the Shady Lane Nursing Center, of Manitowoc. Florence was born June 9, 1920, in Manitowoc Co., to the late Adolph and Lydia Chia Reich, and has been a lifelong area resident. She married Carl J. Conter, November 6, 1943, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot, and he preceded her in death on November 24, 2011. She and her husband owned and operated the Conter homestead farm in Two Creeks for many years, and she also worked for Paragon Electric for 25 years. Florence was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot, and an Honorary member of the Altar Society of the church. She taught Catechism in Tisch Mills for 10 years. Florence was also a member of the Lakeview H.C.E. Homemaker's Club for 68 years. She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed canning, baking, and making wine.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Thomas Young, of Reedsville; Corrine and Brode Lockbram, of Mequon; one son and daughter-in-law, Claude and Barbara Conter, of Whitelaw; three grandchildren, Marjorie (Robert) Bauknecht, Karen Young, Christina (Wayne) Wallace; four great-grandchildren, Andrew Denor, Thomas Bauknecht, Bruce (Marie) Denor, Elizabeth Bauknecht, and her fiance, Kurt Nicklaus; two great-great-grandchildren, Ethan and Makayla Denor; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Otto and Frances Reich, Anton and Evelyn Reich, and by a sister-in-law, and brother-in-law, Jenny and Alfred Grimm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2012, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, in Mishicot, with the Reverend John Becker offficiating, with entombment to follow in the Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call after 10 a.m. on Monday at the church, until the time of service at 11 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening visitation. The Altar Society will recite a rosary service at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. The Conter family would like to express a very special thank you to the entire staff of Shady Lane, for the love and excellent care given to Florence during her illness. Your kindness will always be remembered. The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot is assisting the Conter family with funeral arrangments
