Earl R. Green, 80, a resident of Oak Park from 1897 to 1947, died September 26 in a Waukegan Hospital after a long illness. He had been living at Deep Lake, Wis., since his retirement 10 years ago.
Mr. Green lived in Oak Park for 50 years, and in 1919 founded Earl Green and Co., a real estate firm at 202 Harrison. He belonged to Edward Cook lodge and was a charter member of the Oak Park Real Estate Board. He and his wife, Emma, who survives, had been married 62 years.
Mr. Green was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., and moved to New Orleans, LA. He attended Staunton Military academy in Virginia. In 1897, he and his wife settled in Oak Park, where his father was in the real estate business.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Green is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Spranger of 1174 Highland and Mrs. Betty Cossar of Downers Grove, and eight grandchildren.
Services were conducted Saturday at Haggard chapel by the Rev. H. R. Neuman of Trinity Evangelical United Brethren church. Burial was in Oak Woods cemetery.
