Paul Kirk Dies In Great Falls. Passes Away at Deaconess Hospital After Operation for Appendicitis

Mrs. La Rene Kirk of Opheim came in Tuesday from Great Falls with the body of her 19-year-old son, Paul, who passed away at a Great Falls hospital following an operation for appendicitis.

Paul Kirk was born at Billings, Montana, and the greater part of his life was spent in this state. He was well known in Glasgow as he attended the local schools several years ago. For the past year he has been in Nebraska and registered there last September for the 1918 draft. Having no claims for exemption he expected to be called into service soon and came out here in the fall to visit his mother and other North Country relatives.

A few weeks ago Mrs. Kirk and her son decided to spend the winter in Great Falls and so moved to that city, where Paul was taken suddenly ill only last Thursday.

The funeral services were in charge of Rev. F.E. Henry of the Congregational church and were held at the cemetery Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock.

The deceased is survived by his mother, Mrs. La Rene Kirk, two sisters, Mrs. W.O. Brathovde and Miss Mildred Kirk, all of Opheim. Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Clark of Glentana, uncle and aunt of the deceased, were down to attend the funeral.
