Pvt. Felix J. Trutwin, 35, of St. Stanaslous Kostka parish in Bowlus, was killed in action in Italy on May 10, according to a telegram recently received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Trutwin of Bowlus.
A requiem high mass was conducted by the Rev. F. M. Blalki, pastor of St. Stanaslous Kostka parish, on May 22.
Pvt. Trutwin was born in 1909. He was a member of the Holy Name society. Pvt. Trutwin had been engaged in farming until the time of induction in the U.S. army in November 3, 1942.
He arrived in North Africa In April 1943 and three months later he was sent to Sicily, where he took part in the invasion. In October, he moved on to Italy and remained there until the time of his death.
Pvt. Trutwin Is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Peter, at home; Frank, Rice; Victor, Willmar; Eugene, Bowlus; Mrs. Frank F. Sobieck, St. Cloud; Mrs. E. E. Johnson and Gertrude, Rob-blnsdale; Mrs. George Schlichting, Rice; Mrs. Alphonse Trattel, North Prairie, and Marcella, Bowlus.
