This terrible scourge, which has left desolate so many households, has entered one more, and almost ere it's inmates were aware, carried away the bright little boy who gave promise of so much comfort and happiness to his parents; one of whom in the far, far west, will have to journey many days 'ere he can look upon the little mound which is all that is left to him here on earth of the boy whom he sent away a year ago, and had hoped very soon to greet again. Such partings would be almost unendurable if we had not the hope of an immortality hereafter, where death cannot enter to make us afraid and the blessed faith that they who have gone before are safe in a care which is greater and surer than ours.
