2Lt William J. Domnick was a crewmember of a C-47 transport plane of the 14th Troop Carrier Squadron, 61st Troop Carrier Group.
On 29 December 1943 the plane crashed near Sciacca in Sicily. All crewmembers on board were killed in the crash. The men were buried in the temporary American GELA Cemetery the following day.
Lt Domnick was buried in grave I-98-1167. Date of burial was 30 december 1943.
After the war he found his last resting place in a cemetery in Minnesota.
Over 1,200 men and women were buried in the GELA Cemetery. I am writing a book about this cemetery and hope to finish it next year (2013).
