Obituary attached to Van's Death Certificate in my possession. Unknown what paper it is from.
"Sherman - In San Martin, Calif., February 7, 1936. Van Rensaelier Sherman; loving father of Arthur A.. Sherman, Nettie V. Harris and Florence E. Forgie; beloved brother of Mrs. J. (Jerome) B. Bonaparte) Greer (aka Achsah), all of San Martin. A native of Springfield, IL, aged 90 years."

Note: The Amanda Sherman that died in Oregon on 16 Oct 1924 that was once thought to be Van's wife is not. Having found the death certificate the above Amanda was the wife of O. J. Sherman and the daughter of Thomas Johnson, the search continues.
