Wife of Solomon Boardman

OBITUARY

Mrs. Harriet A. Boardman, who would have been 97 years old on Dec. 15, and who was the oldest member of the First Congregational Church died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Louis Ives, 118 Park Avenue, Saturday night. Death followed a long decline, during which for several years she had been confined to the home of her dauhter.

She was born in this city, Dec. 15, 1833, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Corby, her father being widely know for his skill as a hand shoe worker. Her mother was formerly Miss Anna Kent, member of an old and highly respected family.

She spent her life in Binghamton, watching the tiny hamlet grow into a large and prosperous community. She attended the public schools and married Solomon Boardman, who died about 25 years ago.

She is survived by three daughters; Mrs. Ives, Mrs. Ora Redmond and Mrs. Anna Bond, all of this city; three sons, Fred of Denver, Colo., Milton and Charles W. of Binhamton; four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

The body will be moved to Roberts & DeMunn's funeral home at 52 Washington street, Tuesday at 10 a.m., and friends may visit the place and view the body. The funeral will be held at the home at 1 p.m. Tuesday and burial will be at Floral Park Cemetery.
