Richard Woodyard
Richard L. "Dickie" Woodyard III, 59, of Williamstown, passed away Monday, July 29, 2002, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 29, 1942, in Parkersburg, a son of Richard L. Woodyard Jr. of Parkersburg, and the late Francis Fox Woodyard.

Richard was retired as a self-employed truck driver and had worked at Matheny Motors.

He attended Sandhill United Methodist Church and was a member of the VFW, American Legion of Parkersburg and Moose Lodge of Marietta. He was a 1961 graduate of the Gallia Academy High School, Gallipolis, Ohio. Richard was a loving and caring person who put everyone else first.

He is survived by his father and step-mother, Richard L. Woodyard Jr. and Jessie of Parkersburg; his wife of 30 years, Sharon R. Sommers Woodyard of Williamstown; three sons, Richard L. Woodyard IV, Jeffrey Woodyard and Chad Woodyard and his wife, Claudine, all of Vienna; one daughter, Debbie Spencer and her husband, Jeff, of Vienna; two stepsons, Albert Sutphin and his wife, Cindy, of Vienna, and Stephen Sutphin and his wife, Amy, of Westerville, Ohio; one sister, Janet Gainer and her husband, David, of Hillard, Ohio; one brother, Michael Woodyard and his wife, Suzette, of Parkersburg; one stepbrother, Bob Boone; one stepsister, Linda Richards, both of Parkersburg; eight grandchildren, David and Danielle Woodyard, Allen Michael Woodyard, Trevor and Jacob Woodyard, Bailey Spencer, Kyle Sutphin and Michael Sutphin; lifetime friends, Bill and Rick Hollon; several nieces and nephews; and several special friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Francis Fox Woodyard, and a special niece, Sheri Brabham.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna, with the Rev. Dan Martin officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
