James F. "Jim Frank" Compton, 90, of Louisa, Ky., died Monday, October 15, 2012, at JJ Jordan Geriatric Center in Louisa, Ky.
He was born February 25, 1922, in Louisa, Ky., he was a son of the late Leonard E. and Shirley Vinson Compton.
Jim Frank was the owner of Compton's Welding Shop before his retirement and a member of the Apperson Lodge 195 F&AM. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in WW II.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Joan Hinkle Compton who died in May of 2010.
Surviving are one daughter, Jane Emory, Louisa, Ky., one son, David F. (Kimberly) Compton, Louisa, Ky., and one brother, Leonard V. Compton, also of Louisa, Ky., three grandchildren, Brandon Emory, Shannon Emory, and Private First Class Ramsey Compton.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ric Frazier officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Louisa, Ky. under the direction of Young Funeral Home, Inc.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Young Funeral Home, with family gathering at 4:00 p.m.
