She was born January 3, 1934 in Athens, Illinois, the daughter of Helen and Charles Jackson who preceded her in death. She married Donald Tuxhorn on February 28, 1954 and he survives.
Surviving are sons, Keith of Austin, TX and Kent of Springfield; sister, Shirley (Fred) Hagen of Pleasant Plains; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many beloved friends.
Dorothy graduated from Pleasant Plains High School and retired from the State of' Illinois, Department of Public Aid. She enjoyed volunteering at St. John's Hospital Good Samaritans and Grace Food Pantry while her health permitted. She was an active member of the Retired State Employees Association.
Burial will be in Farmington Cemetery at Farmingdale.
