Cecelia was the daughter of Richard H. Love and Eliza Matilda (Lee) Love. She was of the aristocratic Lee family of Virginia.
She was the first wife of Lewis Armistead, who would go on to become famous as the Confederate general in the Battle of Gettysburg.
She was the mother of two children: Walker Keith and Flora Lee Armistead.
By 1850 the Armistead family was stationed at Jefferson Barricks in Missouri, when little Flora died in April. From unknown cause Cecelia passed away on 12 December 1850. Cecelia was ill, with quite probably T.B., as it was a very prevalent sickness during that era.
