She was born January 23, 1930, in Richhill Township (Ryerson), a daughter of the late George Dewey and Doris Elsie Tharp Parson.
Mrs. Orndoff had resided in Jackson Township for 40 years prior to moving to Rogersville in 1989.
She was a 1947 graduate of Waynesburg High School.
Mrs. Orndoff was a member of the former Mt. Zion Methodist Church at Bluff, Jackson Township.
She was a member of the former Knights of Pythias Auxiliary in Pine Bank and West Greene Area Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Orndoff and her husband co-owned and operated Beechurst Boron station in Morgantown, W.Va., from 1969 to 1979 and also were the former co-owners of Orndoff Grocery in Holbrook from 1979 to 1985.
She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, playing the lottery and the time she spent with her grandchildren.
On April 24, 1948, she married Robert Donovan Orndoff, who died in June 1985.
Surviving are her three daughters, Kathy, wife of Kevin Guthrie of Graysville, Robin, wife of Larry Golembiewski of Lancaster and Debbie, wife of James Inman of Graysville; a son, Scott, husband of Beverly Orndoff of Waynesburg; 11 grandchildren, Ryan, husband of Carolyn Golembiewski, Erin Golembiewski, Chad, husband of Heather Guthrie, Travis Guthrie, companion of Rhonda Crawford, Carol Inman, partner of Jodi Henning, Chris, husband of Melissa Inman, Megan, wife of James Pierce, Courtney, Brittany, Bethany and Scotty Orndoff; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Dene Goodwin of Waynesburg and Donnis, wife of Carl Hoy of Spraggs; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, is a brother, Lloyd A. Parson.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 24, with the Rev. Bruce Judy officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
