DEATH RECORD
Mrs. John McCreary.
With the death of Mrs. McCreary Omaha loses one of the last of its pioneer women. She came to this city when it was a waste of bluff and forest and for forty-two years she has resided here continuously.
Mrs. McCreary's maiden name was Mary Ann Creighton and she was born in Perry county, Ohio, August 16, 1827. She came to Omaha in 1856, only a year after the first pioneers had settled on the site of the future city, and two years later she was married to John McCreary, who still survives her. She was a member of the Sacred Heart church and has always been prominently identified with its affairs.
