KATHRYN M. ALLEN WEDS W.C. BOWERS

Eighth Ward Couple United in Marriage at Zion Lutheran Church Today

Miss Kathryn M. Allen of 1129 Confer Avenue and William C. Bowers of 1096 Boyd Avenue were united in marriage at 6 o'clock this morning at the Zion Lutheran Church, Jackson Street, by the pastor, Rev. Theodore Buch. They were attended by Miss Mary Louise Powell and Michael Bowers, Jr., the latter a brother of the bridegroom.

Following the ceremony the couple left on a wedding trip to the East. They will be gone about a week and upon their return will make their home at 1136 McKinley Avenue.

The former Miss Allen is a graduate of Indiana State Teachers' College and has taken graduate work at the University of Pittsburgh and Penn State College. For the past several years she has been a teacher at the Osborn Street School and prior to that taught in Windber. She is a daughter of Mrs. Isabel Allen of Seward and has been making her home with her brother, Hebert V. Allen, at 1129 Confer Avenue.

Mr. Bowers is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Bowers and is associated in business here with George W. Reese.

BOWERS - William C., 53, 532 Fronheiser Street, died at noon Feb. 9, 1957, in Memorial Hospital. Born in Dale Borough Feb. 27, 1903, son of Michael C. and Anna (Dopher) Bowers. Survived by widow, former Kathryn Allen; mother, Cleveland, Ohio, and two children, Mary Kathryn and William H., both at home. Brother of Mrs. Wibert Wehn, Cleveland; Earl, 216 Rodger Avenue; James, 1410 Christopher Street, and Arthur, 1158 Boyd Avenue. Preceded in death by father and brothers, Robert M. and Michael C. Jr. Was employee of Johnstown Sanitary Dairy Company. Member of Zion Lutheran Church where he was former Sunday school teacher. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Geisel Funeral Home where service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. Andrew J. Rehbogen. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
