Mary Louise "ML" Deem, 74, of Parkersburg, passed away Oct. 22, 2012.

She was born in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late L. Dean and Elizabeth Armstrong Cross. She was a 1956 graduate of Belpre High School and a 1959 graduate of the Camden Clark School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital for many years before her retirement. She was an avid reader, loved pets and feeding wildlife, enjoyed working in her flowers and volunteered and supported the Parkersburg Humane Society. She was a member of the Stephenson United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James W. Deem of Parkersburg; one daughter, Amy L. Deem of Miami, Fla.; one brother, Joseph D. Cross and wife Sherol of Belpre, Ohio; and her sister, Edythe Waggoner and husband Hal of Deep Creek, Md.

At her request, there will be no funeral service or visitation. There will be for all friends and family a graveside service Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkersburg Humane Society, 29th and Poplar Streets, Parkersburg, WV 26101.
