Frankie L. Ragsdale died on Oct. 10, 2004. He was the son of the late William H. Ragsdale Sr. and Anna Lillian Cole Ragsdale. He was born on May 9, 1947 in Mecklenburg County. On Aug. 21, 1970, he was married to Laura L. Robinson, who preceded him in death.
At an early age, Mr. Ragsdale joined the Amity Baptist Church, where he served as Trustee, and remained a faithful member until his death. He was a member of the East End Class of 1965. He was a Vietnam veteran, who received the Purple Heart and an honorable discharge after serving two tours of duty. Until his health began to decline, he was a private contractor. As a contractor, he provided needed jobs for the young men in the community.
He is survived by two daughters, Laurisa Francine of Lawrenceville and Frankee Margareet, at home; nephew, Sherrod M. Robinson; six brothers, William H. John and Howard Ragsdale of LaCrosse, Harry (Doris) Ragsdale of Rocky Mount, N.C., Ralph (Phemie) Ragsdale of Ashland and Herbert (Bertha) Ragsdale of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; two sisters, Maude R. (Paul) Lewis of Spotsylvania and Margaret R. (Keith) Spencer of Camp Springs, Md.; one aunt, Maude Young of Washington, D.C.; one uncle, Robert (Ann) Cole of Philadelphia, Pa.; nieces, Kristal and Karena Ragsdale and nephews Paul and David Lewis, Herbert and Rogerick Ragsdale and Calvin Ragsdale.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 16 at Amity Baptist Church in LaCrosse. Interment with military burial rites performed by VFW Post 7166 was at held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Macon, N.C. Feggins Funeral Home of South Hill was in charge of the arrangements.

It is possible that she is buried in MACON, North Carolina 27551. I have searched PHBCC in Franklin and her grave is not there. Also, the picture of the church on the memorial is not the Pleasant Hill in Macon Co. Thanks." If Betty is correct, then I have no idea where Frankie is buried as burial information is from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
