Miranda "Myra" McConnell was born Sept 11, 1869 in Illinois. Her parents were: William Hughston McConnell (1844 - 1915) and Lydia Arabell Stoutemyer McConnel (1845 - 1930). She was one of eight children in the family. The other siblings were John (1871-1944), Paul (1874-??), Percy (1877-??), Golda (1877-1937), Bertram (1880-??), Frank (1888-??) and Louis (1890-??).
Miranda married her husband Willis Theron Adkins on August 17, 1889 in Milwaukee, WS, USA at the age of 19 years. She and her husband had one child Vera May Adkins Robertshaw. They lived for many years in Cicero, IL and Oak Park, IL. Her husband Willis died on August 29, 1908 in Oak Park, IL.
After her husband died she lived for a few years in Los Angeles, CA and later returned to Washington, D. C. to live with her daughter Vera and Vera's husband Edmund C. Robertshaw.
She died on January 4, 1956 and is buried in the Rock Creek Cemetery in Washington, D. C. where Vera and Edmund are also buried.
