Dorothy Louise Nanny Sheppard, 93, went home to the Lord on September 25, 2013.
She was born in Bogalusa, LA to the late Clarence and Edna Foreman Bowman. Dorothy owned Sheppard's Nursery for Infants and Toddlers in Mandarin where she cared for many children who knew her as Nanny.
She was a member of Mandarin Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sullivan Sheppard and son, William Billy Sheppard. She is survived by her children, Martha Wallner (Rick), Sally Sheppard Ray (Danny), Peggy Oubre (Dennis), and Josh Sheppard (Susan); 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; along with many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27th in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28th in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin with Dr. Dan Davis as Officiant. Interment will be in Mandarin Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin.
