She was born in Knightdale, North Carolina and came to Atlantic City in 1935.
She attended the Atlantic City public schools. She met and married Sylvester N. Banfield, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Union Baptist Temple and served as a member of the Hostess Club until her health began to fail.
Surviving are her three children, Sylvia of Galloway; Sr. Donna of New York, New York; and Tracy of Brigantine; her sister of Pleasantville; a loving niece; a stepson; two granddaughters; two great grandchildren and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Services in the Union Baptist Temple, Pennsylvania and Drexel Avenues, Atlantic City. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Pleasantville. Arrangements entrusted to Greenidge Funeral Home, Atlantic City.
