William N. Andrew formerly of Stamford, CT died on November 28, 2015 at the home of his nephew, Roger Anyan. He had been a resident of Unity, New London and Newport, NH since 2006. William was born in Greenwich, CT on January 17, 1919, the youngest son of John B. and Jemima (Gordon) Andrew of Rye, NY.

He was a graduate of Rye High School, Class of 1937.

During WW II he was a 1st Lt. in the US Army Ordnance Division having served in the Pacific Theatre including the Okinawa campaign.

He was employed by Pitney Bowes in Stamford, CT for 35 years, retiring in 1991 as a supervisor in the Quality Control Department.

He was pre-deceased by his 2 wives, Bertha J. Andrew, a renowned water color artist, and Shirley Andrew, and 3 brothers, Jack, Alexander and Bruce.

He was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Turn of River Presbyterian Church in Stamford, CT. He was currently a member of the South Congregational Church of Newport, NH, the Brewster-Gould-Lee-Rollins Post #25 American Legion in Newport and the National Chapters of the VFW and Amvets.

Private services will be in the Putnam Cemetery in Greenwich, CT.

William Nesbitt Andrew’s parents were John Blackwood Andrew (19 April 1879 - 8 Sept 1946) who was born in Kirkbride, Wigtownshire, Scotland and died at Port Chester New York, he was a gardener, and Jemima Huddleston Gordon (15 June 1875 - June 1952) who was born in Kenmay, Aberdeen, Scotland and died in Florida. They married on the 18 March 1909, at Reunion, Kenmay, Aberdeen, Scotland and arrived in New York on 28 March 1909.
