Emery Joseph Benoit, 74, a resident of Berwick and a native of Leonville, passed away, Friday, February 22, 2008 at his residence. Emery loved family gatherings, especially; Bar- BQ’s, crab and crawfish boils. Emery enjoyed Cajun Music and fishing. Emery was proud to have served his country in the United States Army.

Emery is survived by his son, Troy Anthony Benoit of Berwick, one daughter, Donna B. Glaze of Berwick, two sisters, Lelia B. Richard and her husband Willie of Sunset, LA, Rita B. Guidroz of Patterson. Emery is also survived by six grandchildren, Michelle, Reed Jr., Julius, Blake, Mary, Andre’, three great-grandchildren, Kayla, Chase and Aydan.

Emery was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Kidder Benoit, daughter, Mary Benoit, his parents, Joseph and Anita Marks Benoit, one brother, Chester Benoit and one sister, Agnes Quebedeaux.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Twin City Funeral Home from 2pm until 9pm. The visitation will resume, Monday, February 25, 2008 at St Stephen’s Catholic Church from 8:30am until 10am. A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 10am. The East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad will conduct the Military Graveside Honors. Emery will be laid rest in Berwick Mausoleum.
