Johnnie E. Brown 89, of Nebo, KY passed away at Western KY Veteran Center in Hanson, KY on Thursday December 17, 2015. He was a US Navy Veteran, having served in the South Pacific during WWII. He was a Coal Miner, he worked for the Fies Mines in Hopkins County, KY. He also was a Farmer, he was a member of the Fairview Church of Christ in Dixon, KY. He was preceded in death by his wife Allyne Brown, 1 son Micheal Brown and a granddaughter Brantley Brown. Survivors include his son Johnny Brown and his wife Sherlene of Nebo, KY; 1 sister Juanita Nally of Clay, KY; 2 brothers Bobby Brown and Billy Brown both of Dixon, KY; 2 grandchildren John Brown and Laurelle Brown-Hill; 5 great grand; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY at 2pm on Sunday December 20, 2015. Bro. Wayne Lamb and Bro. Tim Morgan will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dixon, KY. Visitation will be from 10am until service time on Sunday at the funeral home. Military rites will be performed by the Hopkins Co.
